The ability to treat a sporting injury well is firstly having an understanding about what the sport involves and the ability to understand the psychological impact that stopping sport can have on an individual – this is important regardless of whether you are amateur or a professional athlete. We will work closely with you from the outset to assess the affected area and gradually rehabilitate you back to your peak performance.

It is really important to consider the impact your work station might have on your body. Every body is different and you might require distinct equipment to ensure that you are able to work comfortably over the course of your day.

We look to provide long term solutions so that you can get the best out of each working day and continue with the rest of your life without being plagued by pain.

We offer functional work station assessments that evaluate how you sit and work by building up a picture about your working day. We thoroughly review your work station using Display Screen Equipment (DSE) guidelines. This is followed up by a report that scrutinises your current work station. It also makes appropriate recommendations as to how your available equipment can be best utilized but will also suggest the use of alternative equipment if it is required.

Common issues that can arise with an ill – fitting work station include: -

• Work Related Upper Limb Disorders (WRULD)

• Headaches

• Back and neck pain

• Muscular tension

Here at Distinct Physiotherapy, we are really keen to raise the profile about physiotherapy. We strongly believe through education our youngsters may use the service we provide more readily in their own lives but may even be inspired to become physiotherapists.

We are more than happy to present at careers conventions or provide tailored talks to students who are thinking about what career path to take. To date we have presented talks to students at St Albans School for Girls, Queenswood in Brookmans Park and Queens’ School in Bushey.

If you know of a school that you think might benefit from the Distinct Futures project, then please contact us on 07914268508.
