We will be offering a 4 – week educational exercise programme for ante - natal and post-natal women* at our St Albans location. These sessions will last for 1 hour covering short topics of discussion relevant to the ante natal and post - natal body. Examples include the importance of your pelvic floor, how to exercise safely during and after pregnancy, physical preparation for labour and key points required to safely achieve a ‘flat tummy’ after pregnancy. These short but evidence – based topics are followed by gym ball and mat work based exercises that will be tailored to your capabilities. You will also be taught effective stretches to reduce joint and muscle stiffness.
The classes will be delivered by fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapists. You will be screened on a 1:1 basis to ensure that you are a suitable candidate for the group. It also gives us a chance to find out a bit more about you, your body and your pregnancy.
We will provide you with expert guidance and a catalogue of exercises that you can perform both during and after your pregnancy. You will also learn how to physically prepare yourself for labour and learn the invaluable skill of relaxation.
